WILMINGTON YEARLY MEETING YOUNG FRIENDS EPISTLE  -2006

Romans 12:2 As you know the theme is “Not Conformed, but transformed”.  We have learned that we need not to conform to the things that our friends and family want us to do but what God wants us to do for him, and we can do this by following God.  Matthew 27: 35-36
Friday we first went to Bible study with the adults.  Then we went to the parsonage to play games to get to know one another.  We then had lunch and played “stump the Quaker” while the adults ate.  We went back to watch the movie “Millions”.  It talked about all types of giving.  We then broke into groups to read Bible verses about giving.  We got ready and left for the banquet.  We did not get to hear the speaker because we had reservations at Thunder World, where we bowled, played games, batted in the batting cages and raced go-carts.  After we went back we went to bed.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 On Saturday we went to Mountain Challenge.  Guided through a tower climbing experience by Bruce Guillaume proved to be an enlightening experience.  Some who were afraid to try such a task as climbing the Alpine tower,  once they tried it sounded they were actually quite good at it.  This task required us all to split into groups of three (one climber, one relayer and one rope monitor) and work together and relay on one another to complete the task.  Bruce then talked and related the climbing experience to Biblical principles.  We then ate lunch there.  We then  stayed there and went on a hike and did activities that had to do with teamwork, like climbing the wall.
We came back to the parsonage to change to go to the lake.  We are glad that Jarod Reagan let us go off his dock.  We ate dinner there which Cindy Drinnon and Melissa Peagler fixed.  Then those that wanted to hear Shane speak went to the Peace Lecture.  Then we returned to the parsonage as a group to write this epistle.
