Parents and Volunteers are Awesome

This youth ministry requires the help of all parents and many volunteers.  If you are a concerned parent or a prospective volunteer and you wonder what our whole mission is then read on:

We want to do S.Q.U.A.T. for God?  There you have it, we want to do S.Q.U.A.T. for God.  Maybe I should explain. 

In everything we do (activities, outreach projects, fundraisers) there is great significance.  I realize that until I took this job I had done "squat" for God; I'd done nothing.  Sure I had gone to meeting on Sunday's, Bible study on Wednesdays and volunteered a little here and there but basically nothing for God.  While I was still coming up with excuses why I couldn't serve God when He wanted me to and how He wanted me to, it was like God asked me, "Heidi could you do at least squat for me?"    When He put it that way I realized how selfish I had been.  He also revealed to me just exactly what squat means:

S = Share the good news of Jesus Christ with those youth who don't know him.

Q = Question what our gifts and purposes are and encourage youth to use their gifts to minister to others.

U = Uphold God in everything we do.

A = Assure youth they are remembered, cared for, held accountable and encouraged in their spiritual walk.

T = Teach and equip youth with The Truth.

It's great to be a part of a work that can have eternal benefits that will outlast the rat race of today.  It's awesome, come and join me, be a volunteer!
