We are the Young Friends of Wilmington Yearly Meeting

Friends, also known as Quakers, take their name from the following Bible verse:
"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command you."  John 15:12-14 (NIV)

Wilmington Yearly Meeting Religious Society of Friends is just one part of the larger body of Friends, Friends United Meeting.

Yes, we often get strange looks when we say we are Quakers but this youth group is like many other Christian groups in that we seek to help youth establish their faith in Christ and encourage them to then practice and strengthen their faith.
The strange looks are often followed by questions like, "Aren't you supposed to dress like that guy on the oats box?"  Well, that guy was one of our traditionally dressed Quaker ancestors. ( Maybe it's even Uncle George, George Fox the founder of Quakerism, but probably not.)  Our dress may have changed but our values remain the same, to honor God by following Christ's example. To be led by the Holy Spirit in living a life of peace, integrity, simplicity, and moral purity.
